WBBDCL is a State Government company under the Department of Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal, incorporated in 2009. It is housed in a G+9 building at EN-24, Sector-V, Salt Lake, Kolkata -700091. It is a key bio-incubation project to provide appropriate infrastructure to start-up companies in the area of biotechnology.

The Kolkata Biotech Park has a high end laboratory with sophisticated instruments like ultramodern Genome Sequencer, DNA Sequencer, Fast Protein Liquid Chromatograph (FPLC), PCR, Gel Documentation System etc. for providing Common Instrumentation Facility for start-up biotech companies.
