West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress

Objectives

The Congress strives to :

• – Inculcate Scientific Temperament across the State ;
• – Popularise Science in the Vernacular to make knowledge accessible to all ;
• – Review the status of Scientific Research in the State ;
• – Bridge Science with Society by aligning research with societal needs ;
• – Nurture Young Minds by encouraging young scientists to pursue impactful translational research ;

By fostering knowledge exchange and innovation, the Science Congress aims at strengthening the scientific ecosystem and paving pathways for the socio-economic development of the State.

Scope

The West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress (WBSSTC), including the Regional Congress, is a two-day event to mark the celebration of science. It serves as a dynamic platform for deliberations, presentations of scientific papers by bringing together researchers, innovators, academicians and scholars.

The Congress features :

• – Thematic Technical Sessions on twelve different disciplines of science and technology ;
• – Invited Lectures by eminent scientists who share their knowledge, findings and breakthrough ideas on a contemporary topic related to the discipline ;
• – Paper Presentations by young scientists, highlighting the translational aspects of their research outcomes ;
• – Memorial Lectures by the eminent and recognised scientists on their areas of expertise ;
• – Outstanding Paper Awards for the excellence of research ;
• – Research Grant Awards to the best three Professionals/ Academicians recognised as excellent at the State level based on the merit of their papers ;
• – Research Fellowship Awards to the best five scholars for their exemplary papers ;
