To recognise and nurture outstanding scientific minds, the West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress (WBSSTC) honours exceptional research papers, adjudged as outstanding at the State level, with prestigious Research Fellowship Awards and Research Grant Awards.
The papers of State-level outstanding awardees will undergo a further review by an Inter-sectoral Expert Committee. Based on their evaluation, the Principal Authors of the first five extraordinary papers will be considered for Research Fellowships to continue their research work while pursuing a PhD. This award is not only for recognition of their contribution but also supports their long-term research goals.

All selected papers, with the consent of the authors, will be published in the Journal led by the Department, ensuring wider visibility and recognition.
